The proprietor of this hotel overcharged us by £20 and when this was pointed out to him he said that he would “sort it out later”. When we returned home he accused us of having damaged the toilet flush in our en-suite bathroom. This was a complete lie and was concocted so that he could escape paying us what he owed. Staying in this hotel is a highly punishing experience and the owners are fully of the belief that its guests are there for the good of the establishment rather than vice versa. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We loved our stay at this hotel, the location is ideal, situated a stones throw from a picturesque beach. The owners were warm and friendly, the accomodation cosey and the food delicious. We'll definitely be visiting again and would recommend this to anyone heading down to Cornwall.

We have visited the Tides Reach Hotel regularly and have always found the establishment to be clean, comfortable and extremely well run by the owners who offer a friendly and welcoming service. A great value for money base for a Cornish break.

Terrible Hotel! A B&B that treats you like an irresponsible child that wants you to pay for the privilege of being in their home. They chastise you at every opportunity and patronise you and charge you £70 per night for the honour! We are a professional respectable couple. We were also overcharged and when we requested a refund as it was their error, they alleged that we had damaged the toilet in the bedroom and refused to refund! This is an appalling hotel with rules written everywhere. Not friendly as stated on the website and sub standard accommodation and food. Visit at your peril!

My friends and I make an annual pilgrimage to this hotel. Really friendly owners who always go out of their way to help, 5 mins to Perran’s beautiful beach and plenty of nice pubs and restaurants on the doorstop.

The weak dollar means value for money is important. That's precisely why we will be staying at Tides Reach again when we vacation in England this summmer. Kind and thoughtful owners who run a clean and comfortable hotel. We have recommended Tides Reach to friends and family in the US.

Having stayed at this hotel with former owners i was unhappy with the way the present owners conducted themselves. The bar was never open nor was the hot tub they were not welcoming to our children and seemed to neglect the fact that we were on holiday. We were squashed into the attic room with 3 children,2 had to share a bed.If they didn't want us there with children they should not have taken our booking or our money.Visit with caution and don't take your kids!!

what a great stay we had at the Tides Reach hotel - the properietors were charming and friendly and made us feel most welcome. The standard of cleanliness, room accommodation and the meals was just excellent and we would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cosy hotel to stay in Perranporth. All round value for money, we say, and will definitely be back soon.

I have read the above reviewa and cannot agree with them at all.
My Wife and I stayed there and found the Hotel very good and friendly and we will most certainly stay there again.
I can recommend this Hotel. I am not too sure of the motives of the reporters who wrote such a bad Review -- it sounds like a differnt Hotel -- we cannot agree.

We totally disagree with M, Sayer's reviews on this hotel, if these reviews were true, then ask yourselves, why we have been coming here for the last 4 years. They made us feel most welcome and at home we also found how clean it was kept, so much so our friends which made a visit to us, were also impressed too, and are thinking of making a booking with you for next year.
We were both impressed with the variety of home cooking they provided, not to mention how you nice it tasted, and plenty of it too.
We would well recommend them to our family + friends, as an excellent hotel to stay in when holidaying in cornwall.

Cruising round the Web after my trip to Cornwall last week and was amazed to come across negative reviews for this place. Are Messrs Morley and Sayer angling for a freebie? Tides Reach doesn't pretend to be a 5 star hotel and I was very happy there - and more importantly will be going there again. FanTAStic location, good, clean accomodation and - I thought - really nice proprietors! Get a life!

Firstly I would like to state that I am the owner of this business. Whilst obviously having an interest in this matter I can not let the 2 reviews by M Sayer and H Morley go unchallenged. They stayed as a couple and this is NOT 2 reviews but one potentially libellous one. There review should be ignored because it is not the truth, as follows:-
1: “Yes” for the benefit of all review readers, we admit that they were overcharged, BUT they happily accepted our profusely offered apologies for this genuine mistake the moment we were informed; which was not until some 4 days later and only moments before leaving. Indeed this “over-charge” was actually just a special reduction offered only to them and nothing to do with the normal tariff price.
2: They requested a vegetarian breakfast which we supplied. They did not eat any other food and neither did they express any complaints about the food during their stay. Had they done so we would have put any "problem" right immediately.
3: By their own admission, they were actually the last to use the toilet, which was broken and seem unable to accept that no one else could have broken it as there was no one else in the building at the time, and we never accused them of malicious damage or treated them with any impropriety. We always accepted it as an unfortunate accident.
4: They did receive the rebate however we withheld some £8.05 being the cost of the parts, and sent them full invoices to show this.
5: Finally, after calling me a thief and a liar they told us to keep the money (£8.05) and we donated it (£8.05) plus to the Cornish Shelter Box Charity.
