My Husband and I have just returned from a 2 night break at the Shellard Hotel. We checked in at this hotel last minute - the manageress and Staff were very friendly and we were shown to our room. On first inspection it was OK. very dated. Bathroom sink was small - no plug, then we noticed the roof - panel tiles - 1 missing, the rest very stained, when we were ready for bed i almost fell off...the matress sagged at one side due to the springs being broken. every time the person in the room above us moved in bed the noise of her bed springs was deafening - the next morning i explained this to the manageress and was quickly moved rooms - we were given a wheelchair access room which was on the top floor - much better not having to listen to the person above us however the bed was rock hard as this materess was almost none existant - very thin. the window had no handle just a bit of wire to pull it closed. We were very glad that we did not book a week in this place as it was not worth the money paid. The only good points i can make - the breakfast was lovely very filing - the staff are very friendly however the actual hotel needs a complete overhall.
