I booked for a party of 10 mature ladies for a one night stay at the Sumermead on the 20.10.07. We where greated and money taken from us with smilies and in a friendly atmosphere, we then left the bed and breakfast returning in the early hours of the morning having consumed enough ale going straight to bed making no noise and disturbance to other guests. In the morning when we went down to the dinig room for breakfast the atmosphere had completly changed we where all given breakfast. (no choice of what you wanted)Just as we finished eating a member of my group was asked by one of the owners what had been wrong with the toast when she replied nothing but would of prefered it more toasted, the owner flew into rage of abusive foul language demanding that all my group leave the place. As we all sat there very confussed and stunned she returned into the dining room in a further aggitated state than previous and demanded that ALL the guests in the dinig room get the F**K OUT OF HER HOTEL! Again shouting and using very abusive foul language. Later when we gave the keys in the situation deteriorated further with the owner and her family stating that all quests who stop in the hotel are the same, wanting things and SHITING in the beds. When we tried to explain to them that we certainly do not act like this we where laughed at and told they don't give a SHIT! As we where leaving the whole family where mocking us telling us to get back to wigan where we come from. There was other groups of lads, girls and couples that witnessed the outburst from the owners and all where appalled by the events. In the middle of all this the owners young child was present and subject to listening to the unsuitable language from his family!!!!

I stayed at the somermead. It looks lovely when i pulled up far better than i expected. For £17-50 a night. I don't know what i was expecting at that price. I was greeted by a warm and friendly family. The room was lovely and clean. The bar was twice as large as i expected. Draught beers, ciders, over 25 optics and a sound selection of wine etc. The breakfast was superb. Eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, beans, hash browns, toast, tea coffee and juice. What else can i say? I will be back and thats a fact.
