We got to the hotel only to be told that the lift was broken and somebody had been trapped in it the night before. My wife s in a wheelchair and i was told she couldnt stay, the person on reception was very rude as she wouldnt ask my wife anything directly one can only asume because of the wheelchair. I had to go and find us another hotel bearing in mind it was bank holiday wekend so not so easy to find a room for 2 adults and 2 children. My wife and kids stopped in the reception and were offered a drink. I found us a hotel opposite that was absolutly great, freindly welcome, they managed to accomodate us. I filled everything out went to get the others, they had been waiting over 20 minutes for the drinks that never arrived. My daughter told me that she had actually seend an ealderly couple go up in the lift so there is no doubt in my mind the owner was lying to me. The hotel is advertised as completly wheelchair friendly yet the owner tried to make out it was my fault that i didnt mention my wife was in a wheelchair and i should have stated this when i made my reservation on booking.com. There prices are really cheap but i would definitly think twice before staying here. I would recommend you go to The Georgian Hotel just opposite, they cost a little more but you can tell the difference as soon as you step through the front door, and thee food is absolutly great too.
