will try to make this short, the room smelt really badly, the owners said it was because the people before us wanted no cleaning for 3 days, HOW IS THAT OUR FAULT, they refused a refund and we left after 1 day of a 2 day stay and lost £200, we are trying through other channels to get the money back. they were very unhelpful and would never apart from once see us, they kept sending the in laws to talk to us, the old gentleman in particular was very rude as where the owners themselves.
We loved our stay 2 years ago but the new owners have completely brought this place down.
Never again.

The staff at the Ambleside Lodge are quite simply the rudest people I have ever met! I suggest you visit the trip adviser website before considering booking. Don't be fooled by Ambleside lodge's fancy web site, it's nothing like that. They also demand payment on booking in, which kinda tells a story in itself!
