Only stayed here as we were meeting friends there.SImply not value for money. One night, a double and a single room and 3 bar meals - Bill of £163 - disgraceful.
Lighting in the rooms is terrible, e.g. no light above dressing table, hairdryer on opposite wall to the mirror.
Beds are so uncomfortable and the duvet is so heavy that its like sleeping under a flat iron!
Does not provide standard hotel service e.g. no meals could be served before 6:30pm on the Saturday night. Residents can not have a drink after the bar closes - this place is a bar with accomodation [it has no atmosphere so cant really be classed as a Pub].
£11.25 for a veggie pasta bake and £16.95 for Beef Stroganoff bar meal!
Under pressure to finish breakfast [at 9:00a.m] staff clearing tables all round us.
Almost London prices in a rural town. Part of the problem is they have no real competition. Roll on another actual hotel in Alnwick to give the Oaks a run for its money.
Advice to the traveller, save your hard earned money and try the White Swan or simply a B & B in the town.
