I stayed at Arrow Mill in August 2011 as this was the location of a family wedding, which the hotel seems to rely on for a large percentage of its business. Somebody has a wedding there and all the guests are offered rooms for the night, at no discount at all, in fact the price seems to be hiked up to take advantage of people who wish to stay over when attending a wedding.
Our room looked nothing like the one shown on the website, the fact being that the double room which my wife and myself stayed in was so small and dark it would not be possible to take a picture of it at all. The room was really half a room stuck up into the roof space with the old, tired and uncomfortable bed squeezed in under the sloping ceiling. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, there is no phone, no iron, the hot water takes an age to trickle through the antiquated plumbing system, the shower has all the power of a 1970's childs water pistol, the room was painted in a revolting shade of dark mustard with contrasting black woodwork, the room hadn't been cleaned properly, there was a years worth of dust on top of the picture frames and the carpet looked like it had never seen a vacuum in its life.
If you are reading this and considering whether or not to stay at the hotel, do yourself a big favour and stay somewhere else, Arrow Mill is a lovely place for a wedding, sadly the rooms and the high cost of the rooms let it down massively, I have stayed in £25 a night B&B's that would put Arrow Mill to shame, it is a great pity as with the right management and vision this hotel has the potential to be something very special.
